New Animated ‘Flintstones’ Movie Will Feature WWE Wrestlers

Can you smell what the Bedrock is cooking?

Warner Bros. is teaming up with the WWE for a brand-new animated “Flintstones” movie due out in 2015. “Flintstones” favorites Fred, Barney, Wilma, and Pebbles will attend the very first prehistoric wrestling event featuring personalities like Vince McMagma, John Cenastone, and CM Punkrock.

It doesn’t look like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will take part, though he may tag in later.

“The Flintstones” television cartoon ran from 1960 through 1966. Since then, two live-action movies have been made — one in 1994 starring John Goodman as Fred, and the most recent in 2000.

Last year, “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane tried to revive the animated series for Fox, but the project was put on hold due to his crowded schedule.

This is the second collaboration between WB and WWE — they’re also working together on a new animated “Scooby Doo” flick in which the gang solves a mystery at a Wrestlemania event.

“WWE is family-friendly entertainment, so partnering with Warner Bros. on a Flintstones/WWE project was a natural extension of our Scooby Doo deal,” WWE Studios president Michael Luisi said in a statement. “This new, animated feature allows us to showcase our brand with young fans and loyal Flintstones enthusiasts alike.”

Yabba dabba oooooh yeaaaah.
