Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’: Photo of 1973 Beast and Wolverine

Director Bryan Singer has been very busy making “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” and he’s been almost as busy tweeting photos from the set.

The director’s newest twitpic shows a very groovy-looking Nicholas Hoult and Hugh Jackman, who play Beast and Wolverine in the film, respectively. Singer captioned the photo, “Welcome to 1973.”

While we’re really happy that details about the film have been steadily trickling out thanks to the director’s behind-the-scenes pics, this latest shot and caption leaves us with some questions. For example, why is Nicholas Hoult not blue, huge and furry? As you may recall, Hoult fully transformed into Beast in 2011’s “X-Men: First Class” after an experiment to reverse his mutation back-fired. So, why is the hairiest part of his face in the photo his ’70s-esque sideburns? Well, since this movie is about time travel, we guess anything could happen.

You continue to both elude and excite us Mr. Singer. Check out the full picture below!

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is set to hit theaters July 18, 2014.
