Nick Cannon Mariah Carey Fraternal Twins

It’s a boy — and a girl — for Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey.

Snatching a page from the Book of Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, Nick and Mariah are expecting fraternal twins this April. Nick and Mariah — who wed after a whirlwind courtship in 2008 — announced the songbird’s pregnancy last October, following a miscarriage and reports of frequent fertility treatments for the singer.

“Even before we announced it was twins, I was trying to keep everything gender neutral because I didn’t want to impose an identity on them too soon,” an ecstatic Carey, 40, confirmed in a statement to Life & Style on Tuesday.

Nick, 30, says that while the parents-to-be have selected “unique” monikers for their offspring, the kids won’t be called anything too “crazy.”

“We’re building nurseries in both Los Angeles and New York. They won’t be getting crazy names like Carburetor or something. But they’re definitely unique.”
