Fashion Star mentor Nicole Richie has enough on her plate, between the show (the second season premieres tonight), her clothing lines and looking perpetually chic. So when it comes to dressing the guys in her family — well, they’re on their own.
“I do not dress Joel. Joel dresses himself,” Richie said of her husband Friday on Live With Kelly and Michael. “And he dresses [3-year-old son] Sparrow.”
Then she corrected herself: “Sparrow’s actually dressing himself now but he’s very particular,” she said. “So he needs the bandana tied around the belt, you know how Joel does it … he has to have all of his sleeves cut off of his shirts. He’s got a little curly Mohawk now!”
As far as streamlining her own style, Richie said she spends a little more on everyday items in her wardrobe, like jeans and t-shirts, then adds inexpensive extras. “I feel like if you get really great basics, then you really can just accessorize them with different things and you can make different outfits,” she said.
