Pete Doherty to star as boozy French poet in new movie

Rocker Pete Doherty is set to play the role of a boozy French poet in an upcoming movie.

The Libertines frontman is set to start shooting the film in Paris post Christmas.

“I don’t know if I’m a good actor, but they say I am,” the Daily Star quoted the 31-year-old as saying.

Fans fear the featuring Doherty could be a gamble for producers, as the drug addict is famous for missing gigs.

However, writer Noemie Lecoq said, “In France he’s always drawn crowds.”
