A plagiarism lawsuit against Harry Potter author JK Rowling is being extended to include the American publishers of the wizard books.

Late British writer Adrian Jacobs’ representatives had alleged that the author approached Rowling”s U.K. publishers Bloomsbury in 1987, ten years before his death, and unsuccessfully attempted to sell them his Willy The Wizard stories.

The lawsuit claims Rowling”s 2000 book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, bears a resemblance to segments of Jacobs” novel The Adventures of Willy the Wizard – No 1 Livid Land.

Now Jacobs’ estate has filed another copyright infringement lawsuit against the book”s Stateside publishing house Scholastic Inc.

They want Scholastic Inc to recall all copies of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and pay Jacobs” estate all profit derived from its sale.

“We have not been served yet, and we wouldn”t comment on pending litigation,” The Daily Star quoted Scholastic Inc spokesperson Kyle Good as saying.
