Ryan Lochte Talks Upcoming Wedding Plans and Why He's ''Ready to Be a Dad'&…

Ryan Lochte has family on the brain!

The Olympic swimmer and Dancing With the Stars contestant chatted with E! News earlier today and revealed details about wedding planning and life after tying the knot to fiancée Kayla Rae Reid.

When asked if he wants to take part in any of the planning leading up to the big day, he admitted, “That’s one of the things that I wanted to do because this is not just her wedding, even though everyone always says it’s the woman’s wedding, but it’s mine too and we’re a couple now.”

He added, “I wanted to be involved as much as possible. I want to help her pick out the flowers, help pick out the cake…like everything. I want to be right there with her.”

Lochte’s dance partner, Cheryl Burke, will also take part in the couple’s wedding day—that is, if the groom has any say in the matter.

“She’s going to be choreographing the whole thing,” Lochte told us, to which Burke replied, “Well, that’s going to cost you, buddy!”

And as for a first dance with his soon-to-be blushing bride, Burke thinks the professional swimmer should “do a mixture of all of these dances put together,” you know, the ones he’s been performing week after week on the hit ABC dancing reality competition series.

Lochte further gushed that he’s looking forward to the future with Reid by his side, and more specifically, he’s looking forward to starting a family with her.

“Before I even got engaged, I wanted a family of my own. I wanted to find the right one first and then have kids with her. Now that I’ve found the right one, that’s something we definitely talk about…we want kids and I mean, I’m ready to be a dad.”

Dancing with the Stars airs Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
