Songwriter Justin Tranter shared a picture of the “Same Old Love” songstress putting on eyeliner in a music studio, giving fans the idea that Selena could be recording new music after taking a lengthy break to take care of herself.
“Music and love,” Tranter captioned the picture.
And while the Selenators couldn’t have been more excited, taking to the comments section to freak out, it was Nick Jonas who might have shown the most enthusiasm when he commented with the praise emoji (both hands in the air with blue shine). Fans took notice immediately and began to speculate whether this was pure excitement on Nick’s part or a potential collaboration between the two.
Although music always has been a priority in Selena’s life, the “Come & Get It” singer slowed down and put her health and wellness first. The result was a 90-day hiatus in rehab, where Selena shut off her cell phone and disconnected from the outside world.
“It was the most refreshing, calming, rejuvenating feeling,” Selena answered in Thrive Global’s questionnaire. “Now I rarely pick up my phone, and only limited people have access to me.”
To maintain her newly implemented healthy routine, Selena always makes sure to “Drink water, stretch and take a deep breath.”
Selena made her first public appearance post-respite at the 2016 American Music Awards, where she wowed the crowd with an emotional speech. “Thank you guys so much,” Gomez said while holding back tears. “In 2014, this stage was actually the first time that I was authentically 100 percent honest with all of you. I think it’s safe to say most of you know my life whether I liked it or not. And I had to stop. Because I had everything. And I was absolutely broken inside. I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.”
