World Cup hero Landon Donovan has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly four years, Rules of Engagement actress Bianca Kajlich.
The petition was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday. In the court documents obtained by TMZ, Donovan cites irreconcilable differences for the split and indicats that the couple have been separated since Oct. 31, 2009. The footballer, 28, is also requesting spousal support and attorney fees.
Donovan, who was the subject of a paternity scandal over the summer, sparked rumors of a possible reunion with Bianca in June, when he was spotted blowing a kiss to Kajlich after scoring the game-winning goal for the US in the 2010 World Cup match against Algeria.
The estranged couple married on New Year’s Eve 2006. They have no children.
