Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara and Jessica Biel, whose acting credits include The A-Team and Summer Catch, join Lea Michele, Ashton Kutcher, Hilary Swank, and Robert De Niro as the latest Hollywood heavyweights to sign up to for an appearance in the ensemble comedy, New Year’s Eve, the sequel to 2010′s Valentine’s Day.
The pair are tipped for the lead roles in the box office side-splitter, directed by Garry Marshall, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday. Biel is expected to play a pregnant woman who is trying to win a cash prize given by a hospital to the first couple to give birth on New Year’s Day. Vergara’s role, though, is still under wraps.
Negotiations will have to wrap up soon, with mid-December eyed for a start date on the project, which is being produced by Mike Karz and Wayne Rice.
