Conan O’Brien’s new employer TBS has come out to support the comic’s bid for a Primetime Emmy Award for his short-lived turn as host of NBC’s The Tonight Show.
TBS has launched a “For Your Consideration” campaign to support O’Brien with two ads. However, NBC did not include Conan’s show on its campaign DVD, opting instead to throw its support behind The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
The Emmys air Aug. 29 on NBC.
The O’Brien print ads debuted in Hollywood trade publications this week ahead of the July 8 nominations. One reads: “For your consideration, outstanding achievement in the use of SPF 150. From your new friends at TBS.”
Conan’s new show will debut on TBS on Nov. 8.
