The Rise of Skywalker star responds to character’s shock dying

JJ Abrams’ The Rise of Skywalker was not met with out criticism, with many followers left disenchanted by the Skywalker Saga’s conclusion and its remedy of the collection’ beloved characters.

Now, with the mud settled on Episode IX, Domhnall Gleeson has admitted that he would have most popular staying alive within the Star Wars universe for a “little bit longer” – and who may blame him?

Speaking to IndieWire about Hux’s sudden dying, Gleeson mentioned: “It would’ve been nice to stick around a little bit longer, for sure. It would’ve been nice to see the spy thing play out a little bit.”

Although Hux did not get the ending Domhnall hoped for, the actor went on to concede that The Rise of Skywalker‘s director Abrams in the end is aware of finest: “JJ knows what he’s doing, and I heard a kind of gasp in the cinema when it happened, so I guess he was right.”

Elsewhere, a special Star Wars debate rumbles on, with Force Awakens and Rise of Skywalker editors lately saying that Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi appeared to “undo the storytelling” of Abrams’s first instalment.

“It’s very strange to have the second film so consciously undo the storytelling of the first film,” Mary Jo Markey admitted. “I’m sorry, that is what it felt like.

“I do not even really feel like that is true concerning the third movie. It took the place the second movie ended and tried to inform a narrative, I did not really feel prefer it was consciously making an attempt to… it did not really feel that means.”
