The Stare Locks Franco and Ryder
James Franco and Winona Ryder are set to star in The Stare , Deadline reports. The film, to be directed by Jay Anania will represent the first film from the newly-launched Waterstone Entertainment.
Ryder will star as a playwright who begins to lose track of reality during a mounting production with Franco appearing as one of the actors.
Anania most recently directed Shadows and Lies , which also starred Franco. Ryder recently appeared in the similarly-themed Black Swan last year as well as in this year’s Ron Howard dark comedy, The Dilemma . She is next scheduled to provide a voice for Tim Burton’s stop motion project Frankenweenie . Franco, meanwhile, is set to appear in Rise of the Apes this summer and will soon reteam with Sam Raimi for Oz, the Great and Powerful .
