Watch ‘Birds of Prey’ Cameraman Collision That Was Used in

“Birds of Prey” director Cathy Yan revealed on Twitter Saturday that the filming of 1 struggle scene led to a head-on collision between Huntress (performed by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and the movie’s cinematographer, Matty Libatique.

The scene in query comes in the course of the funhouse struggle between the Birds of Prey and Black Mask’s henchmen. At one level, the vengeful Huntress tackles one of many mooks and stabs him as she rides him down the funhouse slide like a sled. But Yan says that when Winstead and the stuntman she was using on slide into the digicam, that wasn’t a intelligent little bit of modifying. It seems that Libatique “got destroyed by [Winstead] and the 200 pound stuntman. That shot going to black was the collision.”

Even because it has fallen beneath expectations on the field workplace, “Birds of Prey” has earned a cult following with DC followers thanks partly to the form of gonzo, unpredictable cinematic model that led to photographs like this one. And it wasn’t simply Yan and the actors who wished to have a wild time. Libatique, who has obtained two Oscar nominations for his work on “Black Swan” and “A Star Is Born,”  was able to put his physique and really costly digicam on the road within the title of leisure.

“To be clear, Matty was totally fine,” Yan tweeted. “Walked right out of the tunnel like the badass he is. He also volunteered to do this.”

“Birds of Prey” is now enjoying in theaters.
