Sexy singer Jewel helped spawn a viral sensation when she donned a disguise to perform at a Los Angeles karaoke bar in a scene from a comedy video posted on FunnyOrDie.com last week.
Now the video that’s still heating up search engines may be headed to the small screen.
In a prank dubbed Undercover Karaoke, Jewel finds her inner Susan Boyle by going undercover at a karaoke bar as an office frump named “Karen.” The beautiful songbird donned a wig, glasses, prosthetic nose and a padded pants suit. When she reluctantly takes the stage after much prodding from actors playing her co-workers, she blows away the crowd, singing her own hits.
The team at FunnyOrDie team are shopping the concept as a reality television show, snoops told Deadline.com this week. The series would follow the same concept as Jewel’s viral smash and feature various musicians over the past four decades in disguise playing their own hits at various karaoke bars.
