A bus full of unknowing tourists brought unbridled joy to the Oscars

Ellen DeGeneres took a star-studded selfie and had pizza delivered, the “Stranger Things” kids brought peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for hungry celebrities and any number of other stunts have been carried out at award shows. On Sunday night, Jimmy Kimmel may ave one-upped them all.

In the middle of the 2017 Academy Awards, Kimmel led a none-the-wiser group of tourists into the Dolby Theater. They were expecting to see a display of celebrity Oscar fashion but they didn’t expect the stars to still be wearing the clothes.

Once in the theater, the tourists were treated to presents from Jennifer Aniston, selfies with Denzel Washington and everyone got to pet Mahershala Ali’s newly-won Oscar. Not a bad way to spend your Sunday night for anyone involved.

Of course, getting to meet Ryan Gosling certainly helps in that regard — as does Denzel kind of, sort of marrying an engaged couple in the group. And yes, we know the marriage he performed isn’t legal. That’s not going to stop them from telling that story until the end of time. Besides, who’s to say Washington isn’t an ordained minister?

The group was also introduced to Nicole Kidman, whose husband Keith Urban captured the moment from his front row seat.

My God, Jennifer Aniston even gave one woman the sunglasses out of her purse.

If there was one loser in that entire segment it was Matt Damon. The poor guy — of “the jerk” behind Casey Affleck — just can’t catch a break with his arch nemesis Kimmel hosting the show. Better luck next year, Matt. And look on the bright side, Jimmy could have simply booted you from the ceremony. Instead, he’s spending the night mocking you much to all of our delight.
