Vinayak Azad made a dignified exit from the Censor Board committee on completion of his tenure of 5 years. Presently he has been transferred to the Central Excise Department in Mumbai. Azad was succeeded by Alpana Sharma.
He was all praises about the board and his experience with his colleagues. He describes it as the most memorable five years of his life, and thanked Sharmila Tagore for being as wonderful a boss as she is a human being. He showed much excitement at all the interesting experiences that he had had during his tenure.
Speaking about the time he spent in the censor board, he said, “The film industry welcomed me with open arms and overall it was an enriching experience. I think it also suited my temperament and I met a lot of interesting people during my tenure. I just hope that I was honest to my profession and did what was expected from me.”
As of now, he wants to take it slow before he takes on his new responsibility. “For the moment I want to spend time with my family and my kids before taking on my new role”, he said.
