“Thrilled to announce Emmy nominee Frances Conroy is returning to AHS,” Murphy tweeted. “Devils and angels this year…Frannie plays the ultimate angel.”
All of last year’s stars are playing new roles in Asylum, which takes place in one for the criminally insane called Briarcliff Manor. Lange lords over the institution as a nun named Sister Jude.
Conroy, along with Lange, earned an Emmy nomination in the miniseries category for season one of AHS. They’ll find out who will take the prize on Sept. 23.
The new season of AHS premieres on FX in October.
