Hitachi GST has announced that it will shortly start sending quarter-inch thick hard drives. The hard drives are 26percent slimmer as compared to the current drives incorporated in most of today’s laptops and notebooks.
The upcoming ultra-light notebooks set for the market launch in the coming days will require new designs of hard drives. The ultra light notebooks are expected to be launched in the market in the third quarter of this year.
Hitachi has said that the ultra slim drive was being designed due to laptop manufacturers like Dell, HP and Lenovo.
