The “Rocket Man” crooner, 63, and his partner David Furnish are planning to adopt a child from the country after Elton performed there earlier this year, a well-placed insider close to the star divulged to England’s The People this week.
Pals say Elton and David were devastated when their bid to adopt a baby from Ukraine last year failed because of their sexuality. (The country doesn’t permit same-sex couples to adopt.)
“Both he and David are desperate to have a child. They were devastated when they couldn’t get the baby last year. But after Elton went to South Africa as part of his tour, he realized the huge HIV problem out there and wants to help.”
