Jenson Button won the Chinese Grand Prix ahead of McLaren teammate Lewis Hamilton to take the lead in the 2010 Formula One world championship.

Button, who won his first drivers’ title with the Brawn GP team last season, finished 1 1/2 seconds in front of Hamilton as the Shanghai International Circuit produced its seventh different winner in as many races. Nico Rosberg was third.

Button’s second victory of the season moves him to 60 points atop the standings, a 10-point lead over Mercedes GP’s Rosberg after four of 19 races.

“This victory is very special, it really means a lot,” Button said in a televised news conference. “It was a tricky race out there and again we called it right.”
