She doesn’t have a title, and she says we’re still a ways off from seeing it, but Jodie Foster will next direct a sci-fi thriller.
Foster was doing press for her latest film The Beaver down at SXSW when she told the news to the L.A. Times .
“There’s a family element to it, but it’s much more a genre movie,” she said. “I’d like to do that ’cause that’s a world I live in as an actor but I’ve never really gone to as a director. I’d still have to have all the other stuff in a film. It can’t just be, ‘There’s a bad guy, there’s a monster.’ It has to have all the other stuff too.”
The actress will be tackling a slew of other projects she’s set to star in first, like Neill ( District 9 ) Blomkamp’s Elysium .
