Get well soon, Spock! Star Trek Leonard Nimoy, 79, is recovering after undergoing abdominal surgery last week. A rep for the actor will confirm only that Nimoy had a “minor benign abdominal surgery” and is “recovering beautifully.”

Nimoy played the pointy-earred Mr. Spock in the original Star Trek TV series and a host of subsequent film follow-ups. He enjoyed recurring role on the hit Fox series Fringe before retiring from professional acting earlier this year.
