Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt recently spoke to Moviefone about his latest film, “Looper,” a sci-fi action flick that follows the story of an assassin in the year 2044, charged with killing his older self from the future. Here’s what the 31-year-old star had to say about his new movie:
“I think that there’s so many layers to it and there’s a lot of questions that it dramatizes: Questions about yourself, one’s past, one’s future, one’s fate, one’s destiny vs. free will; questions about violence; questions about what causes violence and whether you can stop violence with more violence and whether that’s just a loop.”
Now, the layers Gordon-Levitt was referring to can literally be seen first hand in two new Mondo prints by artist Martin Ansin for the film. Debuting exclusively on Moviefone, the “Looper” limited edition posters show off a two-headed Joseph Simmons, the main character of the film; the younger one looking to kill his older self, the older self looking to convince him otherwise.
Directed by Rian Johnson, “Looper” has already received rave reviews after premiering at this week’s TIFF. This limited edition poster is timed with a special screening of “Looper” taking place at the 2012 Fantastic Fest in Austin (the screening will be attended by both Johnson and Gordon-Levitt). The custom print will be available for sale at the fest on Friday, Sept. 21.
You can take a look at the two Martin Ansin posters — one gold, one silver — below. Make sure to follow @MondoNews for all the latest news regarding Mondo. The Fantastic Fest will be held from Sept. 20-27.
“Looper” is set to hit theaters on Sept. 28.
