An American genome sequencing company has set out to find out just what Ozzy Osbourne is really made of. The mystery of why the Black Sabbath frontman, 61, is still alive after decades of drug and alcohol abuse may finally be solved. Scientists intend to test the rock icon’s DNA to see what kind of strange genetic makeup it contains that might explain Osbourne’s very survival.

Ozzy will be one of only a few people in the world to have his full genome analysed by scientists, Britain’s Sky News said Wednesday. Using a blood sample, researchers at Knome Genome are hoping to improve their understanding of why some people can live a life of excess while scores of others can not.

Results will take approximately three months.
