On Thursday, producers of The Pee-Wee Herman Show — which has been splitting the sides of audiences in Los Angeles for nearly six months — announced that the show is headed to Broadway this fall.
Paul Reubens and his cast of 11 co-stars, 20 puppets, and seven puppeteers will be heading east to for a limited engagement at Manhattan’s Stephen Sondheim Theater, according to BroadwayWorld.com. Reubens begins his six-week engagement on The Great White Way with preview performances that kick off Oct. 26. Opening night is scheduled for Nov. 11.
The show hopes to capitalize on heavy tourism in NYC during the holiday season. In fact, Pee-Wee might even make cameo appearances at some major holiday-themed events, such as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, to promote the show.
