Two of the biggest teen stars of the eighties are hoping a new theater project will take them all the way to the bright lights of Broadway, Variety has learned.
Spitfire Shannen Doherty and The Original Karate Kid Ralph Macchio are teaming up to star in A Room of My Own, a play about a man’s comical Italian-American upbringing in New York’s famed Greenwich Village. Legendary Hollywood badass Doherty will play nun Sister Rita (Ha! Imagine that….) alongside Macchio and Sex And The City’s Mario Cantone.
The actors have been recruited for a Sept. 20 reading at the Bleecher Street Theater Company in the Big Apple. If the show finds financial backers, Ralph and Shannen could be headed to the Great White Way.
