According to the official blog of PlayStation, the new update will offer a video editor and uploader, PlayStation Plus subscription functionality, new power save settings for the console, five-star rating system for PlayStation Store content, as well as new PlayStation Network application.
One should mention the PSN service and online multiplayer is offered for free, as for PlayStation Plus subscription, it is promised to provide free games, beta invites, early demos, free themes, discounts as well as avatars. In case of annual premium service, it will be available for US$50. A three-month trial subscription will cost you US$18. The first month’s offerings is provided with two PSP mini games, free copy of the downloadable racer Wipeout HD, as well as handful of premium avatars.
The uploader and video editor create a new function that can be accessed by means of XrossMediaBar of PS3. With the help of it users will be able to upload, save as well as edit file that are stored on the PS3 system to Facebook and YouTube.
