When South Africa’s opening math with Mexico on Friday ended in a draw with the score being 1-1, the team not only kept alive the hopes for not only the remaining matches but for the people also. First half of the match was inspiring but later could not keep the momentum.
The country is organizing the football world cup for the first time. This has put immense pressure on the South African team, called also as Bafana Bafana, to perform well in the tournament. Suddenly, the team players have been turned into larger than life figures with parades organized for many days before the cup began.
Coach Carlos Alberto had said that the team was like Brazil but denied the comments later when it drew with Mexico. He said that South African team should not be compared with Brazil.
