Michael Scott will have to quit “The Office” because Steve Carell wants it.
Steve Carell shared with AccessHollywood.com on Saturday, during the junket dedicated to “Despicable Me,” his latest film, that he sees no need in that character in NBC show in the forthcoming season. And he really wants to surprise the audience with it.
Steve is sure that the primary goal of any show is to surprise the public anyway even if a character will have to leave it. He stresses that he has always liked that grey side of life.
At the same time the show itself will go on. It will depict some of Dunder-Mifflin employees’ life as it used to do.
After the reporter hinted at him that it would be interesting for the audience to see him with Amy Ryan, former flame Holly, at sunset, Steve Carell stated that the show will not be so romantic.
He is sure that the public will not be disappointed at it too much as any show is a real art and nobody can say for sure what will happen in the next episode.
The star boasts that “Despicable Me” has already become extremely popular with kids. Even his son who is 6 years old is so enthusiastic about these animated series that has even become Steve’s manager, as Carell says.
