If Marvel Studios has proven anything, it’s that having a strategic, multi-year plan for their superhero movies is definitely the way to go. According to Marvel’s Kevin Feige, they’ve got boards full of potential movies all the way through the year 2028, and fans have no problem thinking that far out because, hey, at the very least it continually gives them something to look forward to. Warner Bros., who owns the film rights for DC Comics, looks to be readying their own multi-year lineup, too, with recent announcements suggesting a potential slate of three DC movies per year, or at least three in 2016 and 2017.

None of those included a new solo Batman movie, though. Sure, Ben Affleck will play Batman in multiple team-up movies, like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017), but today Latino Review reports a rumor that the studio knows exactly when they want Batman to fly solo and it won’t be till 2019.

LR also claims the working title for this 2019 solo Batman movie is The Batman, but they also admit that because the date is so far off there’s lots that can change, including the existence of the movie altogether. There’s also other questions, too, like will Affleck direct it himself and could it feature other DC heroes, elements we haven’t seen in a live-action Batman movie, save for his sidekick Robin and Catwoman.

2019 may be a long ways off, but it does sort of make sense when it comes to a standalone Batman movie. Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy is still hot on our minds, and we definitely need space–as well as a couple of other movies to get used to a new Batman–before revisiting a fresh solo series. Let us see this guy play with some other heroes, and give us that time to invest in Affleck’s version so that it feels different enough from what’s come before.

Is 2019 too long of a wait? What do you think?
