While Fox decided not to move forward with the television adaptation of Joe Hill’s “Locke & Key” comic book series, a trailer for the pilot has come online and is viewable in the player below.

Though the video has, apparently, been available for two weeks, it has only just been uncovered and linked to by series writer Josh Friedman, who also vouches for its veracity.

“This leaked L/K trailer was made by Fox for advertisers months ago (obviously before they decided not to pick us up),” he Tweets, “Nobody should make anything of its presence on the net. I don’t know who put it out there. But it is something Fox had shown me long ago.”

The IDW series tells of Keyhouse, a New England mansion with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them. The building is also home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all.

The pilot, which was also screened at Comic-Con, was directed by Mark Romanek, who also Tweeted the link.
