What to watch on Thursday, December 1…

Welcome to December, the final month of 2011! Dang, doesn’t it seem like this year only just started? Anyway, before you start worrying about the ever-quickening passage of time and the fact that we’re all basically just hurdling toward death, just remember that the holiday season = cookies. So many cookies! Also, fun TV:

8pm, NBC
Community
New roommate issues abound when Annie accidentally breaks one of Abed’s DVDs and he launches an all-out operation to discover who did it. Meanwhile Jeff and Shirley team up to defeat some local jerks at Foosball. All Nielsen families are going to be watching this episode, yes?

HOLIDAY SPECIAL, 8pm, ABC
Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town
This classic 1970 holiday special includes the voices of Fred Astaire and Mickey Rooney and the plot concerns some old dude who decides to give toys to a bunch of children he’s never met. Except it’s not scary, it’s wonderful!

8:30pm, NBC
Parks and Recreation
Not since A Few Good Men has there been a courtroom drama as dramatic, compelling, and intense as this episode of Parks and Recreation, “The Trial of Leslie Knope.” But what is she on trial for, you may ask? It’s a secret. Just kidding, you’ll find out when you watch.

10pm, USA
Burn Notice
Tonight Michael enlists Anson to track a deadly Russian spy who’s attempting to kill Sam’s ladyfriend. Meanwhile, in the Cayman Islands, Fiona and Jesse must perform some kind of task for Anson. Remember to expense that trip, you guys!

10pm, FX
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
When Philadelphia is gripped by presidential-visit gridlock, the gang kicks it into high gear in order to make it to the movie theater on time. Hurry, or you’ll miss those first 20 minutes of commercials!

SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, Discovery
Weed Wars
Well, as far as occupational reality series go, this one definitely beats shows about snakes or motorcycles. In Weed Wars, we’ll follow the proprietors and employees of an Oakland marijuana dispensary as they deal with labyrinthine ordinances, taxes, and hypocrisies. Good times?
