The last time we saw this many cast members from ‘the Avengers,’ it was in San Diego at last year’s Comic-Con, where they made an announcement that the super-superhero movie was actually happening. This time around, ‘Avengers’-related things were going down a few hours up the road in Anaheim at D23, Disney’s annual expo.
At today’s movie panel, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, brought out Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Scarlett Johansonn (Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) and Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man) to present new clips from the film.
Unfortunately, Chris Evans (Captain America), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Mark Ruffalo (the Hulk) and director Joss Whedon were in Cleveland currently shooting scenes.
As for the new footage, according to Marvel, it started with the villain, Loki, locked in a giant prison cell 30,000 feet in the air on the Helicarrier (the Avengers chosen mode of transportation). Nick Fury walks up to Loki and tells him if he tries to escape, he will be dropped off the ship.
Additional clips included Hawkeye shooting an arrow, the Hulk screaming into the camera and Iron Man talking to Loki — the dialogue went a little something like this:
Loki: “And you, big fella, managed to piss off every one of them. I have an army.” Tony Stark: “We have a Hulk!”
Yea buddy! (and a big thanks to Marvel’s Live Blog to providing coverage). Unfortunately, Feige stated that this footage would not end up online, so we will likely have to wait until the full trailer is released.
