Betty White holds a grudge longer than a Mafia capo….

Although outdated, “Talk To The Hand!” is still a pretty effective way of brushing off someone you’d rather have a root canal than converse with — and it’s the exact method Betty White’s using to shake off a “Wicked Stepdaughter” she holds partially culpable in the death of her beloved husband. America’s Favorite Grandma is embroiled in a bitter family feud that’s kept her estranged from her troubled stepdaughter for more than three decades, spywitnesses snitch in the new edition of The National Enquirer.

White, 88, has stubbornly refused to end a 30-year feud with her stepdaughter, Martha Ludden. The veteran actress wed Ludden’s father, Password host Allen Ludden, in 1963 when his daughter was 13. Martha resented White for taking the place of her mother, who had died just two years earlier, in 1961, and she retailiated by spending years tormenting Allen and Betty with behavior that would make Taylor Momsen blush.

A longtime family friend tells The Enquirer: “Martha was young and she deeply opposed the marriage. She was very angry at her father and made it clear she did not like Betty. Her relationship with her was strained from the start…Allen used to argue with Martha constantly over her… anger towards Betty. Her tumultuous relationship with her father caused him a lot of grief.”

We can’t imagine anyone not liking Betty White, but Martha was reportedly particularly adverse to Betty’s attempts to create boundaries in the lives of her stepkids, which also includes Martha’s sibs David and Sarah: “Martha had to dress properly and be in the house no later than 9 PM. She rebelled and fell into the wrong crowd when she was teenager.”

Although Martha eventually turned her life around — earning a law degree in 1990 and devoting her life to working with people with disabilities — Betty has never forgiven her stepdaughter for what she deems deplorable behavior Martha displayed during Allen’s battle with stomach cancer, which ultimately killed the comic in 1981.

“I think Betty blamed Martha for making Allen’s last years nothing but misery and heartache,” says the friend. “She [Martha] now lives alone, and to this day, 30 years later, Betty still won’t have anything to do with her. She doesn’t even acknowledge her existence and has refused every attempt by Martha to make amends. Even when Martha’s sister tried to intercede, Betty refused….All she wants to do is apologize to Betty for the pain she caused, but that door shut a long time ago. And Betty won’t budge.”

Martha confirmed her estrangement from the former “Golden Girl” when approached by Enquirer reporters, but refused to comment further: “The last time I spoke with my stepmother, Betty White, was 30 years ago…I don’t want to talk about it.”
