Fantastic Four’s Josh Trank “quit” Star Wars earlier than being fired


Josh Trank has claimed that he “quit” the Boba Fett Star Wars film earlier than Lucasfilm had an opportunity to sack him.

Trank’s involvement with the Mandalorian-centred journey shortly ended following his expertise engaged on 20th Century Fox’s widely-panned Fantastic Four reboot, together with claims from an unnamed insider that his working type on the superhero film was “erratic”. He denied these claims, saying they had been weren’t true.

Now, in a Polygon interview, the filmmaker has revealed: “I quit because I knew I was going to be fired if I didn’t quit.”

Both Trank and Lucasfilm launched a joint assertion confirming his determination to stop again in May 2015.

Trank mentioned shortly afterwards that his exit from the Boba Fett film was “the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my life”.

Talking on the time concerning the backlash he acquired after his exit, he added: “At first I used to be like, ‘I’m simply not going to say something as a result of it would blow over’.

“But I used to be shocked – it simply hasn’t blown over. People get so excited to lift their pitchforks.

“I knew that this was going to be questioned and it was going to come back below scepticism as to why I left Star Wars, and it was onerous,” he added.

Boba Fett was ultimately binned by the studio, however as an alternative we’ve got the fantastic Disney+ collection The Mandalorian.

Josh Trank’s newest film, Capone, will probably be launched on streaming providers subsequent week (May 12).
