Holy Cow: ‘Interstellar’ Is Sending One Lucky Movie Fan to Space

Those looking to take the thrilling, visceral experience of watching Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar one step further will get a chance if they snag their movie ticket over at Fandango. That’s because one lucky fan is going to go where no moviegoer has gone before: space.

Yup, real space.

The sweepstakes, which runs through December 1, is worth a whopping $ 100,000, and one grand-prize winner will receive a seat aboard the XCOR Lynx Mark II spacecraft, reaching an altitude of 100 kilometers/62 miles. Also included in the package are 4g simulator training, and hotel accommodations and round-trip travel to the XCOR spaceport in Mojave, California.

“The Interstellar trip is clearly the coolest prize we’ve ever given to a moviegoer in the fourteen years of our company,” Fandango’s VP of Marketing Adam Rockmore said. “There is certainly no bigger and better way to celebrate a movie event like Interstellar than to send one of our moviegoers on a life-changing journey to space.”
