Shot in the Los Angeles desert — The “4th of July” video features 30-year-old Grammy-nominated singer strutting through the desert and features her performing in front of fireworks. The clip — co-directed by Kelis, Rankin and Nicole Ehrlich — is described as a “spectacular array of visual stimulation seeing Kelis play dynamically upon the four elements of the universe.”
Kelis will perform “4th of July” for the first time on American TV when she visits The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on June 18.
