Tough Kites got mix reviews, but the Hrithik Roshan film is expected to continue with its occupancy level of 90% for at least up to this weekend.
The much awaited film, also having a lead actress Barbara Mori with her charming love scenes with our own Hrithik, was released on Friday across the country and drew huge crowds on the first day. The movie was made at the cost of Rs 60-crore. But with the critic saying that the storyline is weak, it is to be seen if the film can recover its cost and make the profit.
Directed by Anurag Basu, Kites was released across 2500 screens worldwide. Its global distribution rights are with Anil Ambani’s ADAG, an offshoot of Reliance Big Pictures.
The Kites is Hrithik first big release in two years after Jodha Akbar. On May 28, a shorter English edition of the movie will be released for the western markets.
Bulk bookings in advance and fans of the star have so far ensured that the movie carries on with the hype. But after three days, the real scenario about the fate of the film will emerges.
