BRAND NEW FOOTAGE & PROMO FOR THE NEW MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE. TO BE RELEASED IN 2010. Info: Mortal Kombat is a movie franchise that has been missing one thing – the blood and guts that we all loved from the video games. Now it looks as if we’re going to finally get the rated ‘R’ reboot we fans deserve. Kotaku has the first look at the Mortal Kombat test video shot for Warner Brothers to get funding for a full blown hard ‘R’ MK movie. Yes, this is the direction they plan on going for the Mortal Kombat reboot. And I’ve got the exclusive goods on who played who. * The short was directed by Kevin Tancharoen, who did the remake of Fame last year. Judging from this short, Kevin is the perfect director for this movie. * Jacks is played by Michael Jai White. Michael played Spawn and was in Undisputed II. Michael makes a great Jacks (Jax). * Sonya Blade is played by Jeri Ryan, who played Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Voyager. * Baraka was played by the very talented Lateef Crowder, who plays the Brazilian fighter in Undisputed III. * Scorpion is played by Ian Anthony Dale. Ian plays Kazuya in the upcoming big screen version of Tekken. * Johnny Cage was played by up and coming martial arts sensation Matt Mullins. * Still working on who played Reptile. Will update when I find out. * The fight choreography was done by Larnell Stovall. Larnell did the fight choreography for Undisputed III and is one of the best fight choreographers in the business. You want to see the fights you deserve …

@WestonWellman Actually, IT’S LIKE THE GAME, the only thinks they have changed are some order in the timeline and the aspect of the characters (that stills similar)… but Baraka was a human, Reptile was born like that (the human, then reptile again, the human again at the end of Armageddon), who Sub-Zero kills in the first movie is his brother… Cage dies but his killed by Shao Khan, not Baraka, that could be the biggest difference.

@legacybowl that’s what i said… reptile was NOT born human, i just forget a ‘n’ in -(then* human, then reptile[…]- and tarkatans are mutans in the begining, like the Siths of Star Wars (sith demons the sith race mix/netherealm demons outworld natives) and then their own realm… but as i said, they changed the timeline so… now baraka is one of the firsts instead of the lasts of his kind, what yes, changes a lot of key things.

@WestonWellman okay, so now you think mk is stupid. ……. just kidding i know what you mean. i find videos like this trying to find out what is new and people are constantly arguing. i just get sick of it. and the only reason i said you blew your top is the way you wrote your comment.

so i’ve seen the trailer. i want to see the movie…. now what happens. are they gonna make it… or are they just trying to leave us waiting for a fictitious movie that will never eventuate. it’s kinda like the series knight rider (2008) and the Sarah Conner chronicles. ya just get into the show and the axe it. butt holes them blokes with the wallets.
