Quentin Tarantino has mentioned that for years that he would retire after making 10 films. Well, his ninth, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, comes out later this month, so no matter he does subsequent will supposedly be it for the filmmaker. The challenge will likely be close to and expensive to Tarantino’s coronary heart, so it’s somewhat stunning that he’s contemplating ending his Oscar-winning profession on his Star Trek film.

When requested by Cinema Blend about whether or not his R-rated Star Trek script (there’s a “very big possibility” it will get made) might develop into his 10th function, Tarantino answered, “I assume I do have a loophole, the thought was to throw a loophole into it. Which could be [to go], ‘Uhhh, I assume Star Trek doesn’t rely. I can do Star Trek… however naturally I might finish on an authentic.’ But the thought of doing 10 isn’t to give you a loophole. I truly suppose, if I used to be going to do Star Trek, I ought to decide to it. It’s my final film. There ought to be nothing left handed about it. I don’t know if I’m going to do this, however that may occur.”

Star Trek “might” be Tarantino’s remaining movie, except it isn’t… even when he makes it, as a result of loopholes? Makes sense. QT going the place nobody has gone earlier than, besides fellow administrators Robert Wise, Nicholas Meyer, Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, David Carson, Jonathan Frakes, Stuart Baird, J.J. Abrams, and Justin Lin, is enjoyable to consider. But I hope he ends his profession on an authentic concept. R-rated Star Trek (full-frontal Gorn!) can wait till he inevitably un-retires.
