The whirlwind courtship and subsequent engagement of British comedian Russell Brand and singing superstar Katy Perry will transition into wedded bliss almost as quickly as it began. The lovin’ twosome is set to walk down the aisle on Oct. 23, as part of a lavish ceremony that will sweep Jaipur, India for almost a week, if new tabloid reports are to be believed.
Reps for Russ and KP are keeping info on the upcoming wedding ceremony under their hats, but whenever the couple do tie the knot…they’ll be doing so without a prenuptial agreement.
The comedian is convinced he’s found ‘the one’ in Perry and is looking forward to a simple wedding day.
Awwz. How sweet! Anyone want to start placing bets on about how long this “We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Prenup!” union will last?
“I’m trying to preserve and make it a beautiful thing… Really, love between two people is the most spectacular and ordinary thing in the world… I want to make our wedding just about me and her loving each other and we’re getting married in front of our friends and family and keeping it normal,” Brand told New York Magazine last week.
“So it ain’t selling the pictures, ain’t doing no pre-nup. (But) it’s like a normal thing. It’s hard to make it normal because there’s this inflation of this toxic gas of celebrity billowing into it.”
Guests will be flown to India via private jet, we hear. Russell and Katy are expected to tie the knot at the upscale Rambagh Resort in the middle of the Rajasthan desert. A sari-draped Katy will have her hands decorated with henna tattoos before a traditional Indian pre-wedding Mehendi ceremony. The guest list includes Perry’s bestie Rihanna (who hosted Katy’s bachelorette party in Las Vegas over the summer), former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, David Walliams of HBO’s Little Britain USA, and UK talk show host Jonathan Ross.
Check out a few snapshots of the elegant Indian resort where Katy and Russell will reportedly become Mr. & Mrs. Brand.
