Our very own action hero is back to relying on his forte. After trying his hands in comedies and family dramas, Ajay Devgan is back to his action hero image. And his plate is more than full. With 4 new projects coming up, Ajay Devgan is all set to rock his way back into the Bollywood action.
These Four action flicks are Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Rohit Shetty’s remake of the Malayalam hit, Puthiya Mukham, Rajkumar Santoshi’s action drama for Firoz Nadiadwala, and another movie by Priyadarshan .
Devgan accepts that he is more excited by his action hero image than anything else. According to him he is fitter than ever today, even at 41, even more than when he debuted in Phool Aur Kaante in 1992. . “Today, at 41, I’m fitter than I was then. I can say this with certainty because I’ve done different kinds of action in Priyan’s Aakrosh.”
The directors too are very excited about Devgan’s return to he genre of action. . “Every successful action hero has an attitude that’s flamboyant, rebellious and aspirational. Ajay’s return to action is going to make people revisit that attitude,” said Milan Luthria. He also gave a sneak peek into the dangerous action sequence shot by Ajay in his film set in 1970’s which involves a train. “Shooting the sequence required infallible coordination between the engine driver, director and the actor. One wrong word could result in disaster.”
As for Devgan, though he is excited by action, he likes to keep it reasonable and meaningful. Ajay shows of his intelligence as he says, “A stunt should suit the storyline. The audience is smart enough to understand when you’re trying to impress them with those sequences just for thrills,”
