The life, battle and sacrifice of civil rights chief Martin Luther King, Jr. has been the inspiration for a lot of movies through the years, and TheWrap is honoring him with a glance again on the movies that took a better have a look at his message and his struggle.

Of course, the latest movie to look again at King is “Selma,” the movie that raised director Ava DuVernay’s profile and introduced the actor who performed King, David Oyelowo, into the mainstream. It’s additionally credited with launching the #OscarsSoWhite marketing campaign after it was nominated for Best Picture on the Academy Awards however snubbed in all different main classes, triggering immense backlash.

Other actors who’ve performed King embrace “Westworld” star Jeffrey Wright within the Peabody-winning TV movie “Boycott,” which adopted the Montgomery bus boycotts; and Marvel star Anthony Mackie in “All the Way,” a movie that confirmed how the civil rights battle turned some extent of pressure for President Lyndon B. Johnson, performed by Bryan Cranston.
