A few weeks ago a casting call hit the web that reported to be for Avengers: Infinity War and its currently unnamed sequel, which begin filming back-to-back in just a few weeks. The call included a huge roster of names, including some from recent movies like Doctor Strange. It did not, however, include Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
This of course is far, far from a guarantee that the web crawler wouldn’t be appearing in the next giant Marvel movie, but his absence was certainly curious. But if you really, really wanted to see Spidey throwing down with Captain America again or, perhaps, Thor for the first time, you’re in luck. At least if the English translation of this Italian interview with Holland, picked up by ComicBook.com, is accurate.
In it, Holland recalls how he landed the highly coveted roles thanks to Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, whom he screen tested with, going to bat for him at Marvel. In doing so, he casually mentions they’re the reason he’ll be in four Marvel movies in three years and even directly name drops Infinity war.
If that’s true, and the casting call is also accurate, that means this is the current roster for Infinity War. It’s kind of ridiculous, in the best way possible.
