CBS has released a trailer from Paula Abdul’s Live to Dance, which premieres Tuesday, Jan. 4.

The trailer shows the former American Idol judge cheering on contestants — from the middle of the judges’ table — with her trademark friendliness. Paula appears chummy with her co-judges, former Pussycat Dolls singer-dancer Kimberly Wyatt and choreographer Travis Payne (who worked on Michael Jackson’s This Is It), who round out the panel.

“I want different. I want new. I want amazing people who believe in their unique ability,” Paula enthuses.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Live to Dance will faceoff against Idol in the ratings, with both talent shows set to air during Wednesday’s 8PM primetime timeslot.
