Watch: Joss Whedon Reunites with The Avengers to Get You To Vote

As we enter the final stretch of this year’s presidential election, writer-director Joss Whedon (Marvel’s Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron) has taken it upon himself to get people out to vote by creating his own mini production studio solely to produce short form videos intended to convince people to vote on November 8.

The first video, titled Important, has been released on Whedon’s Save the Day website, as well as its YouTube page. The three-minute short is amusing at times, but also direct and to the point, featuring an assortment of celebrities, among them Whedon’s fellow Avengers, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johannson, Clark Gregg, Colbie Smulders and Don Cheadle. Other celebs who pop up include Keegan-Michael Key, Julianne Moore, Rosie Perez, Hamilton’s Leslie Odom Jr., and more.

Whedon told Buzzfeed News that he already has a few videos in the can and plans to produce 1-3 per week leading up to the election. “The point is to throw up as much against the wall as possible, so that we can reach some people, so we can see if something sticks — an image, a phrase, a humorous short, or a not-at-all humorous short, whatever it is that just gets some people to reconsider the idea they’re busy on Nov. 8,” he said.

Check out their mission statement below, available on the Save the Day website, which also makes it real easy for anyone to register to vote. Keep up to date on all of Whedon’s videos by following him on Twitter, @joss, where he just returned following a social media hiatus.
