Watch: New Trailers for 'The Zookeeper's Wife and 'Monster Trucks,' Plus: A…

We’ve got a mix of the serious and the silly and the scary today in this roundup of new movie trailers and clips:

The Zookeeper’s Wife

Jessica Chastain and a whole lot of animals lead the true story of Antonina Zabinska, who saved hundreds of Jews by hiding them from the Nazis in the Warsaw Zoo during World War II.

The movie, based on the book by Diane Ackerman, is the latest from Whale Rider director Niki Caro. Daniel Bruhl co-stars as Lutz Heck, a German zoologist who stole the most valuable species from the Polish zoo for his nation’s own exhibition. And Johan Heldenbergh is the titular zookeeper, Jan Zabinska, who went off to fight in the Warsaw Uprising. Watch the first trailer below and look for this one in theaters on March 31, 2017.

Monster Trucks

Chris Wedge, best known as the director of animated features like Ice Age and Epic, makes his live-action debut with this fun-looking fantasy about a monster who lives in and helps drive a teen boys’ truck.

It’s kind of E.T. meets Herbie or Gremlins meets Transformers any other number of movies about a boy befriending a creature and/or in possession of a vehicle that seems to have a mind of its own. The boy this time is played by MacGyver reboot star Lucas Till, while Jane Levy is the female lead. Most important, though, is the monster: Creech. As the new trailer below tells us, you can meet him in theaters on January 13, 2017.

Passengers

Till’s X-Men co-star Jennifer Lawrence stars in the upcoming sci-fi movie Passengers, and we’ve got a frightening new clip below showing what happens when you’re swimming in a pool in a spaceship and there’s a malfunction with the vessel’s gravity.

This is likely one of a number of fresh scenarios we’ll find in the romantic genre flick, which is directed by The Imitation Game‘s Morten Tyldum. Does she make her way out of the sphere of water? Does gravity kick back in just in the nick of time, splashing her back down? Does the movie’s other star, Chris Pratt, save her somehow? We’ll have to wait and see when this opens on December 21.
