Ladies and gentlemen, Decision 2016 is almost coming to an end.
After millions and millions of Americans cast their vote, many were eagerly waiting to see if their candidate came out on top Tuesday evening.
But before every vote was counted and a winner was officially declared, plenty of moments grabbed the attention of pop culture and political fans alike.
From Saturday Night Live sketches to eye catching outfits, this election had its share of twist and turns. But with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton this close to becoming president, it’s time to look back at the best pop culture memories from the past several months.
Take a peek at just a few of the unforgettable moments that we may be talking about for quite some time.
3. Jimmy Fallon Touches Donald Trump’s Hair
Back in September, the Republican presidential nominee appeared on The Tonight Show where the topic of hair was immediately brought up. “Can I mess your hair up?” Jimmy asked. Donald replied, “The answer’s yes, but the people in New Hampshire where I’m going to be in about an hour from now—I hope they’re going to understand.”
10. Hillary Clinton’s Infamous Shimmy
When Hillary busted out a move during the first debate, she didn’t realize it would be such a big story. “I knew that I said, ‘Woo!’ I knew that, but I didn’t know that I did the little shimmy to go along with it,” Hillary later explained to Ellen DeGeneres. “And then afterwards I saw it and now people are always saying, ‘Do the shimmy, do the shimmy,’ you know?”
12. Bill Clinton’s Love for Balloons
During the Democratic National Convention, the former President couldn’t seem to get enough of…wait for it, balloons! In several candid moments captured by photographers, Bill couldn’t help but grab, hold, throw, touch and savor the red, white and blue balloons. You do you, Bill.

13. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton’s “Time of My Life” Music Video
If you thought things were tense—and close—during the second presidential debate, you weren’t alone. Ultimately, the Internet turned the interesting moments into a musical duet. In a dubbed video first posted by Dutch Lucky TV, Hillary and Donald began singing Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes‘ 1987 hit, “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.”
14. Katy Perry’s Halloween Costume
While many celebrated the holiday dressed as some pretty familiar politicians, nobody did it quite like Katy and her boyfriend Orlando Bloom. The pair attended Kate Hudson‘s Halloween party as Hillary and Donald respectively. “Having a little pre party before I take office,” Katy quipped on Instagram before debuting her finished look. “#IMWITHME Cheers to @svedkavodka #howtosvedka @hillaryclinton.”
15. Donald Trump’s Hat
Wherever the nominee went, his famous hat with the words “Make America Great Again” followed. It quickly became a popular souvenir for Donald supporters and also mocked by some Hillary supporters. And if you’re wondering what guests received at Donald’s election night event in New York, it was in fact the famous hats.
