@MrScorpio Why do you say that :)? By the way, I’m sure you wouldn’t be invulnerable with equivalent remarks ;-). Oooh, so the the acrimonies go round and round.
@PeterSmeter You don’t know what candidates I am supporting. Making a ton of assumptions aren’t you. So far, the candidates I have donated to and campaigned for have all lived up to the reasons I supported them in the first. place. What happened? You basically have been saying there is no problem with our government and now you are admitting there is? Your seem confused. You are either happy letting the government take care of you or apathetically resigned to your fate. Either is sad.
@jatras LOL You must have the official decoding book of government speak in your possession! Maybe you can help me decipher this one. I heard the president talking about “spending reductions in the tax code”. Could that possibly decipher as “tax hikes”?
@slythoroughbred Okay, but according to you we are living in a government that is taking over your life. So are you just enduring government oppression until the candidates you support give us the limited government you want? And what happens if they don’t/can’t do it for whatever reason? What will YOU do then?
@GeminiK So, is it your implication that objectivists are exempt from any sort of criticism? (I wonder what book and movie critics think about THAT idea) Or, is Ayn Rand fanboyism merely the inviolate zenith of human existence? Nah, I don’t think so. I’m my own man and I make my own decisions, completely without coercion from the cheer squad.
Anyhoo, enjoy your day in the sunâŠ
Oh, and by the way, see you at the Straight To DVD aisle when 2 and 3 finally limp out of the studio.
@PeterSmeter I am supporting candidates that are currently keeping us from plunging deeper into the hole we are in and there are many more coming. Already there are enough in place to stop internet regulation and a host of other proposed pieces of legislation that infringe even further on our rights. What will I do then? Continue to do what I have been doing. Standing up for what I believe in. Even if I thought we were past the point of no return, which I don’t, I would continue to try.
@MrScorpio To my dismay, you didn’t understand my question and your retort was bland. I commend you on how caustic your Galt remark was, but this didn’t cut it.
@GeminiK Wooo, criticism of criticismâŠ. Impressive, MOST impressive!
(“Bland”, you say? Sorry to bore you. How was that yawn?)
I understood your question and its implication quite clearly, my friend. Especially, the part about you exemplifying the tenor of my earlier post to a T.
@slythoroughbred And that right there proves everything I’ve suspected. Even “past the point of no return” you would still continue to live in a country with a government that supposedly is oppressing you and not do anything more than “support politicians.” If you were really being taken over by the government, you would be on the front lines of a rebellion like what we’re witnessing in Libya.
@janusandjachy Oh please. Just because Fox is a right wing news source doesn’t mean its not credible. I’ll tell you what’s not credible–ignoring the multitude of radical people that Obama surrounds himself with. The liberal media gives anyone who is their buddy a pass, and everyone who isn’t gets closely scrutinized. Dare I say that closely scrutinizing everyone is their job.
The highest tribute to Ayn Rand, is that her critics must distortï»ż everything that she stood for in order to attackï»ż her. She advocated reason, not force; the individual’s rights toï»ż freedom of action, speech, and association; self-responsibility not self-indulgence, and a live-and-let-live societyï»ż in which each individual is treated as an END, not the MEANS of others’ ends. How many critics would dare to honestly state these ideas, & say “..and that’s whatï»ż I reject?”
